Authentic Christian Leadership Reading Plan

DAY 11 OF 14

Find Your Driving Purpose

As a leader, you'll repeatedly encounter forces that will attempt to divert you from your driving purpose. Jesus surely experienced that as well. Yet he never deviated from his mission.

At the beginning of his ministry, having been led by the Spirit into the desert, Jesus was presented with several strategic opportunities that seemed to promise immediate riches, power, and fame – opportunities that would have utilized his unique abilities. The Bible tells us that Jesus would not be swayed.

If you're a leader you'll undoubtedly face situations in which you're tempted to use your power, prestige, or position to gratify a legitimate appetite in an illegitimate way. Not only must you identify your driving purpose, you must doggedly pursue it, refusing to allow anything or anyone to turn your energies in another direction. – Bill Perkins

Are you staying true to your mission?
