Extended Memorization Of Scripture: 2 PeterSample

The daily discipline of Scripture memorization will strengthen our faith, keeping the invisible reality of the coming judgment at the “day of the Lord” (v. 10) ever vivid in the eyes of our hearts. That day will come without any further announcement, but it has already been plainly announced in Scripture.
As you memorize this third chapter of 2 Peter, this day will become more and more powerfully real to you, and you will live accordingly. The rest of the chapter will tell you how to do precisely that: live wisely in light of the Second Coming of Christ.
Recite yesterday’s verse, 2 Peter 3:9, ten times, being sure to include the verse number. Again, you should look at the screen if you need to refresh your memory. Old verses next, altogether: Recite 2 Peter 1-3:9 together once, being sure to include the verse numbers.
Now, recite your new verse. Read 2 Peter 3:10 out loud ten times, looking at each word as if photographing it with your eyes. Be sure to include the verse number. Then cover the screen and recite the verse ten times.
About this Plan

Adapted from An Approach To Extended Memorization Of Scripture, by Dr. Andrew Davis, this 62 day plan will take the reader through 2 Peter using a tried and tested approach of memorizing a new verse each day. At the end of the 62 day period the reader will have the entire book of 2 Peter memorized.
