Extended Memorization Of Scripture: 2 PeterSample
However, the patience of God will not last forever. When the last elect person has come to faith, the end will come. Peter describes in powerful terms in verses 10-12 what will happen to the universe: the heavens will disappear with a roar, the heavenly bodies will melt in the heat, and the earth and everything on it will be laid bare. The very elements that made up the physical universe will dissolve, “will melt in the heat” (v. 12). All of that will make way for the New Heavens and New Earth that will come, the “home of righteousness” (v. 13).
Recite yesterday’s verse, 2 Peter 3:11, ten times, being sure to include the verse number. Again, you should look at the screen if you need to refresh your memory. Old verses next, altogether: Recite 2 Peter 1-3:11 together once, being sure to include the verse numbers.
Now, recite your new verse. Read 2 Peter 3:12 out loud ten times, looking at each word as if photographing it with your eyes. Be sure to include the verse number. Then cover the screen and recite the verse ten times.
