This One’s With Me: Newsong
“Wow this place is HEAVEN!” Ever uttered those words out of excitement? Maybe “heaven” for you is a massive candy store where everything is free, or wall-to-wall clothing sales, or perhaps a quiet, beautiful place outdoors where you can reflect and take in all that nature has to offer. Many of us would describe these heavenly places differently, depending on our personal tastes.
The crazy part is that, the things mentioned above don’t even begin to compare to what Heaven will actually be like. Imagine, a place where there’s no more pain, no more sickness, no more homework, no more dishes to clean, and eternity with our Creator. Sounds kind of like a permanent vacation.
This is promised for those who have put their hope and trust in Jesus, and this is what we have to look forward to. Yet so often we get so focused on things that are going on around us in this world. We get hung up about grades, money, job interviews, and the list goes on. The truth is, while these things are important, they are just temporary. The situation you are in will feel like a second in time compared to eternity in Heaven. I believe that we would all view life situations just a little differently if we chose to see things from a HEAVENLY perspective, rather than an earthly one. In fact, I believe we would be more fired up than ever about making sure we tell as many people about Jesus as we can, so that more people can join this party we’ll experience.
Today, ask God to give you a heavenly perspective in your day. Ask Him to help you see things the way He does.
