Be Somebody: Thousand Foot Krutch
Have you ever been working on a project for school, work, maybe art, or decorating, and just completely lacked inspiration? Some people will take a walk, go exercise, read a book, or flip on the TV, hoping for a little inspiring piece to keep moving forward.
There was this guy named the Apostle Paul, who wrote the majority of the New Testament. Paul has a crazy story about how he became a Christian, and he went on to write some of the most inspirational words ever penned. As he wrote these life-changing books of the Bible, Paul gave credit to the one who inspired all the words, the Holy Spirit.
You know what’s awesome? That same power that inspired these words that have been read by millions of people for thousands of years, is available to you today! When we put our trust in Jesus, we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
One way the Holy Spirit is described is as “the Counselor”? You may immediately think of many things when you hear the word “counselor”, but let’s think of it in its simplest terms. A counselor advises, directs, and inspires you in the way to go with your life. The Holy Spirit can do this for you too! The same way he inspired the writing of the song, “Be Somebody”, and the same way he inspired Paul’s messages and letters.
Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to guide and inspire your words and actions today. Ask that every decision you make would be under the influence and direction of the Holy Spirit, and not our own ambitions.
