We Are Champions: Derek Minor

Ever gotten really close a super large building? Maybe a landmark, like the Empire State building, the Capitol building, the Seattle Space Needle, or something similar? When you’re up close, it feels larger than life, and you’re almost in awe of the size of it. The awesome thing about these types of structures is that they can often be seen from a distance. The difference is, that at a distance, all of a sudden they don’t feel so big anymore.

At times in our faith journey we can encounter these monumental type events in our lives that can shake our walls and foundation. They can leave us hurt, confused, broken, and even angry with God. Maybe you’ve had a family member diagnosed with cancer, or you have been trying to battle an eating disorder, or you recently lost your job. These things can be life altering and quite devastating.

The thing is, God doesn’t see these events the way we see them. He feels our pain, and He walks through them with us, but He does so from a much higher perspective. We are able to walk through and WIN in these situations because of the power of God within us. We are able to conquer some of the things that seem so huge in our lives, because GOD is BIGGER! This is an amazing truth to hold on to, no matter what you face.

What situation are you facing today that feels so big and overwhelming? Ask God to give you HIS strength to help walk through this time, and know that you are a CONQUEROR because of CHRIST!
