God's ImitatorsSample
Be kind
Did you know that during the Civil War more people died of disease than gunshot wounds? That's right. Many battlefields were near swamps. If someone was wounded, he had to often walk through swampy water to get help. The soldier's camps weren't much better. Without running water and clean bathrooms, the crowded camps became breeding grounds for disease. All the bacteria and germs and bugs got into the soldiers' bodies and killed them. Isn't that disgusting?
I'm wondering if you are walking around in a swamp in your own life. Are you disrespectful or full of anger? Are your words full of the disgusting bugs that hurt others? God tells you that because of Jesus, you can crawl out of the swamp. You are able to "get rid of your bitterness, hot tempers, anger, loud quarreling, cursing, and hatred. Be kind to each other, sympathetic, forgiving each other as God has forgiven you through Christ" (Ephesians 4:31,32).
Kindness and sympathy are God's antibacterial soap. Don't you feel cleaner already?
