God's ImitatorsSample
You are in God's hands
I don't live near sheep, but from what my farmer friends tell me, sheep will follow their shepherd anywhere. That's because the shepherd has always led them to yummy food and refreshing water--and protected them from big bad wolves.
Jesus calls you His sheep--and He thinks that's a pretty good thing. You follow Him because He is your Shepherd. "My sheep respond to My voice, and I know who they are. They follow Me, and I give them eternal life. They will never be lost, and no one will tear them away from Me" (John 10:27,28).
When Jesus was on the cross, He knew your name. Not because He was mad at you for sinning, but because He loved you and was protecting you from the biggest, baddest wolf ever. Because He knew you, He stayed on the cross for you. By taking your sins, paying for them with His life, and rising from the dead, He said, "You are mine--forever!" And from His throne in heaven, He is still guiding you through each day, getting you through the wolf's temptations, making sure you get home to heaven.
Final score--Sheep: 1, Satan: 0. Thank you, Shepherd!
