God's ImitatorsSample
Satan wants you for lunch
When Lord Voldemort tried to kill Harry Potter, he left a lightning-shaped scar on Harry's forehead. This marked Harry for life--and made him Voldemort's mortal enemy.
There's a great hymn that says, "I walk in danger all the way; the thought shall never leave me. That Satan, who has marked his prey, is plotting to deceive me."
Just like Harry, you have a mark on you. Satan has marked you for life--as his prey, his mortal enemy.
Harry got to live mainly in peace for his first 11 years because he didn't know about Voldemort. You don't have that luxury. In 1 Peter 5: 8-9 God gives you some bad news: "Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion as he looks for someone to devour."
Maybe you could feel hopeless because you don't have a magic wand. But I'll tell you what, you have something better. You have Jesus. When Jesus died on the cross and came alive again, He sealed Satan's punishment. Plus, at your baptism, Jesus said, "You are mine. Satan wants you for lunch, but you're mine. He can't have you."
