Day 2 | The Cleansing Fire

You have a choice to worship Jesus or the world. It is impossible to love both at the same time. That is why Jesus says “If you try to hang on to your life [the world], you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it” (Matthew 16:25). The world teaches self pleasure and comfort, while Jesus teaches self-denial and endurance. The world satisfies temporal desires, while Jesus promises eternal rewards and life. So, what do you do when you desire to love God but find yourself occupied and loving worldly things?

In Isaiah 6, the prophet Isaiah shares a powerful revelation of the holiness of God that cuts to his heart. As he witnesses the majesty and holiness of God, a seraphim comes and touches his mouth with a coal of fire and cleanses him. One of the quickest ways to shift from adoring things of this world to adoring the King of Kings is to get a fresh revelation of His holiness—to lock eyes with God and see Him in His fullness.

As you worship and adore the HOLY One, the PURE One, and the PERFECT One, He will birth in you holy desires to love Him and serve Him. You will begin to look like Him and act like Him as you adore Him. You were created in His image, to worship Him alone, not the things of this world. Take time today to evaluate the things you love in your life. Which reflect a Kingdom, godly desire? Which reflect desires of this world?

Prayer

Lord, you are Holy, Holy Holy. There is none like you. There is no one and nothing else that is deserving of my worship except You! You get all my love and all my heart God! There is no one else who is so deserving of my adoration like you, King Jesus. Thank You for your great love. I will worship You with all that I am. Amen.

Application

• What do you adore most? What has your heart? What do you worship?
• Ask God to purify what you love and adore and to give You his desires.
• Ask for a fresh revelation of the Holiness of God as you worship.
• Declare over and over again "You're Holy, Holy Holy!" until revelation of his holiness falls.
