Navigating Silent Seasons

DAY 8 OF 10

We often minimize the power of an atmosphere of worship. When I say worship, I am speaking primarily of worship driven by music and song. It’s often the moments of singing praises to God that He begins to speak to us. Sometimes, all it takes is for you to create an atmosphere of worship in your home by turning on your favorite worship playlist to remind you of His goodness.

If you’re like me, certain songs take you to a place of worship and usher you into His presence. Even as I wrote this Bible plan, I created an atmosphere of worship so that I could encourage you with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

Think about it. The Bible contains an entire book called the Psalms, which is full of songs, prayers, and poems expressing worship to God. Ephesians 5:19 tells us to speak to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Worship through song has a way of bringing us into the presence of God like few other things can.

Consider Elisha, who called for a musician to play for him, and the Bible, which says that, as the musician played, the hand of the Lord came upon Him. Ultimately, I encourage you to worship the Lord through song and create an atmosphere of worship no matter where you are, and the Lord will begin to speak to you. Often, a lyric or the right chord will create an open heart that is ready to receive from the Lord.

Jesus said in John 4:23 that the Father is seeking true worshipers who worship in spirit and in truth. Therefore, God begins to do His best work in these atmospheres of true worship. I invite you to create a worship playlist and set aside a few minutes to do nothing else but worship Him while the playlist plays.

Prayer: Lord, I desire to worship you in spirit and in truth. As I create an atmosphere of worship, you will begin speaking to me. I posture myself to receive all that you have for me in this place of worship. In Jesus’ name, amen.

About this Plan

Navigating Silent Seasons

One of the most frequently asked requests of God is to be able to hear His voice. Sometimes, even those who have heard His voice feel like they have entered seasons where His voice is hard to hear. Through this Bible Plan, readers will be given tools to help hear the voice of God once again.
