Navigating Silent SeasonsSample

The most honest thing I can tell anyone struggling to hear the voice of God is to read His word. We know Him by reading His word, and by reading His word, we know His voice. We must recalibrate our minds to view reading the word as God actually speaking to us, which it is.
Yes, I’m telling you that to hear His voice, you have to read the Bible. The more you read His word, the more you recognize His voice and know what He sounds like. The Bible tells us that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. It also tells us that all scripture is given by the inspiration of God. Therefore, we must transform our thinking of the Bible from just a book we read to God's Holy word because that is what it is.
Consider this practically. You probably read your closest friends' text messages in their voice and can recognize it is them by how they text. In the same way, as you read the Bible, His voice becomes more distinguished because you know how he “texts” (writes). As you become more familiar with his words, you become more familiar with His voice.
Perhaps your frustration with the word lies with the translation that you are reading. The best translation is the one that you will read consistently and comprehend. I encourage you to read between different translations to help explain the meaning of the word. Also, if you want to take what I said literally, you can listen to the audio version of the Bible, for which the Bible App also provides options. Ultimately, I want to encourage you to read His word for what it is…His word. Remember that His voice sounds like His word.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for reminding me that your word is your voice. Even when I feel like I cannot hear you, help me pick up your word as a reminder that you are speaking to me through the Bible. In Jesus' name, amen.
About this Plan

One of the most frequently asked requests of God is to be able to hear His voice. Sometimes, even those who have heard His voice feel like they have entered seasons where His voice is hard to hear. Through this Bible Plan, readers will be given tools to help hear the voice of God once again.
