The Promise

DAY 9 OF 42

Isaiah's Prophecy About the Promised Savior

Listen to "Isaiah's Prophecy About the Promised Savior":

Reflect

This story is full of promises! What are the blessings we received when Jesus arrived on earth? Joy, peace, good news, comfort, and freedom. Additionally, He provides forgiveness and healing. Doesn’t that make your heart overflow with gratitude? What are other ways you have experienced those gifts? What are some ways you can spread this good news to others?

In contrast, the promised Savior suffered much in order to make all of that available to us. How is His sacrifice described? He experienced sorrow, hatred, rejection, punishment, beatings, and death. All of this was foretold hundreds of years before it happened. As we look back, we see the accuracy of the prophecies and are assured of the Bible’s trustworthiness.

The people in Isaiah’s day waited eagerly for the promised Savior. And now we, too, joyfully anticipate His second coming!

● How do you think the people felt hearing that God promised a Savior like this?

● How do you feel knowing Jesus suffered on your behalf?

Journal

About this Plan

The Promise

Experience a different way of interacting with God’s Word. Deepen your intimacy with God by listening to an oral Bible story each day. Then allow His Word to transform you by reflecting on a short devotional. Grab a journal to record what you notice in the story and what God is saying to you through His Word.
