DAY 19 OF 42

Jesus Walks on Water

Listen to "Jesus Walks on Water":

Reflect

The disciples in the boat battled the wind and waves making little progress. When they saw a ghostlike creature, they cried out in fear. Jesus said, “Don’t be afraid!” So, Peter stepped out of the boat and actually walked on water toward Jesus. But when he looked at his unbelievable circumstances, he began to sink. His faith wavered. When he cried out for help, Jesus took His hand and led him to safety. He will do the same for us. He urges us to step out in faith, disregard the fearful circumstances, and do the extraordinary.

God tests our faith during fear-inducing experiences. Ask yourself this question: What am I afraid of? Jesus loves to meet us in our deepest fears. Fear and faith are opposites. Fear points out unsurrendered areas of our lives. Jesus joins us in our dark storms, and sometimes He does that in an unexpected way.

● In what way is God calling you to take steps of faith despite fearful obstacles?

● Think of a time you applied faith to a difficult situation. How did the Lord reward your faith?

About this Plan

The Promise

Experience a different way of interacting with God’s Word. Deepen your intimacy with God by listening to an oral Bible story each day. Then allow His Word to transform you by reflecting on a short devotional. Grab a journal to record what you notice in the story and what God is saying to you through His Word.
