The Promise

DAY 20 OF 42

Jesus Asks, "Who Do People Say That I Am?"

Listen to "Jesus Asks, 'Who Do People Say That I Am?'":

Reflect

This is one of the most important, challenging and life-altering invitations one could answer. An invitation that changed the very trajectory of history. Jesus is calling each and every one of us to participate in His divine mission for the world. But are we willing to suffer for it?

As people, we tend to avoid the whole suffering part that Jesus talks about. However, Jesus clearly states that if we are truly His disciples, we will have to suffer on His behalf. Peter wholeheartedly believed that Jesus was the Christ, yet refused to believe Jesus would have to suffer for it.

Jesus promises that we have eternal hope of a relationship with Him, even in the midst of our darkest moments. What an incredible opportunity we have to be invited into God’s work in the world, knowing that the creator of the universe is on our side, no matter what happens!

● What are areas of your life that keep you from living out a fully committed life to Christ?

● What are some emotions that come up when you think about living a life committed to God?

About this Plan

The Promise

Experience a different way of interacting with God’s Word. Deepen your intimacy with God by listening to an oral Bible story each day. Then allow His Word to transform you by reflecting on a short devotional. Grab a journal to record what you notice in the story and what God is saying to you through His Word.
