DAY 15 OF 28

How do you feel about group projects? In a lot of group projects, a few people will do so much of the work while other members float on. When it comes time for the final grade, the people who didn't put in any effort will take credit for how great the project is and everyone ends up with the same grade. Unfortunately, it's an all too common approach to leadership, but Jesus invites us to do things differently.

Today's reading focuses on this Early Church leader named Paul. Paul had a pretty infamous reputation, and, when we first hear about him, he's actually trying to shut down God's community. After this encounter with Jesus, he's completely transformed by God's love. But now Paul has a new dilemma — how does he fix what he's done in the past?

As Paul starts to turn his life around, he has to learn to rebuild trust with the people he once harmed. Each day, he made the choice to live with integrity and continue to follow Jesus' example, slowly building credit and respect in the eyes of the earliest Christians.

When Paul made the choice to lead differently, he set his mind on the things God said to practice, no matter the resistance he faced. Eventually, people started to recognize the difference and opened themselves up to trust him as they recognized his consistency and genuine desire to grow with God. Paul's actions matched his words, and he shows us how great leaders choose integrity.

Great leaders don't have to have official positions, titles, or people who report to them. With God, being a great leader is something anyone can achieve because leadership is simply about becoming the kind of person who's worth following. But how?
