DAY 20 OF 28

Think about something you're really good at. Like an instrument, hobby, or sport. Now, think about what it was like the first time you tried it. Chances are, you weren't very good the first day. But, you worked at it consistently over time. When we lead with integrity it’s choosing the right thing consistently over time. This looks like being faithful to our commitments, even the small ones.

Luke 16:10 helps us to see that our capacity to lead grows when we demonstrate integrity with the small things. It can be easy to think about the distant future, our dreams and goals and sometimes even worry about how we’ll get there. Today’s verse reminds us that it is taking one thing at a time, being faithful in the small things, and leading with integrity that we can act and make decisions today that can shape the futures we dream about.

This week, what can you do to be faithful in the small things? Take some time today to think about what some small responsibilities are you’ve been blowing off, small tasks you can do to help out at home, or even how the words you use impact the people you care about. Perhaps it means looking out for a sibling, finding ways to help out around the house without being asked, or being kind to a friend who is struggling.

When we are faithful with the small things, our capacity to lead with integrity grows.

Great leaders don't have to have official positions, titles, or people who report to them. With God, being a great leader is something anyone can achieve because leadership is simply about becoming the kind of person who's worth following. But how?
