DAY 22 OF 28

Leading others is a challenge, especially when things feel new to us. It's like going to school for the first time. You'll need guidance, wisdom, and ideally, a map to help you find your way.

Early followers of Jesus were in a similar position. Everything about Christianity felt new to them because . . . well, it was new. They were full of questions and needed help discovering which paths to take and which decisions to make. To help them figure out what to do, Paul wrote them a letter. Not only did he thank them for pushing through the newness, but he reminded them of the ways staying close to God would help them grow. In fact, the growth and joy they had already experienced were because they chose to stay close to God in the unknown. Even as they were figuring things out, they had made a habit of spending time with God and learning about what to do next.

Even when we become seasoned leaders with tons of experience, we'll have moments where things feel new to us. When we do, we can turn to God to help us navigate our experiences. We can go to God and know we'll find the guidance and help we've been looking for. No matter what situation you're in, you can always turn to God to help. As you do, you'll become the kind of leader who inspires others to keep growing in their faith. Great leaders follow God's lead.

When you hear the word "leader," you might think about an influential celebrity, a famous politician, a coach, or your new class president. Great leaders don't have to have official positions, titles, or people who report to them. With God, being a great leader is something anyone can achieve because leadership is simply about becoming the kind of person who's worth following. But how?
