God Is My Dad From A-Z

DAY 5 OF 8

D for Doubt by Sara Valin

Do you ever feel a lack of certainty? Maybe you are uncertain about what outfit to wear, what college to attend, or maybe even what to do in life. Doubt comes from the Latin root, duo, meaning “of two minds.” I know for me; I am a very indecisive person. I can literally spend all day in a shoe store, deciphering between two pairs of shoes and looking for the flaws in each pair. Crazy, right? Sometimes in life, we look at the details of our situations and the choices we have to make and dwell on the negative that can come from them. Don’t get me wrong, it is great to acknowledge the consequences that can come from our choices, but when the heart starts to dwell on them, doubt in God starts to take place. When trials come into our lives, we naturally try to handle them on our own. Even when there are no trials and life is smooth, sometimes we try to reach perfection. When individuals rely only upon themselves, they are doubting the mighty God. All strength comes from the Lord Jesus Christ, and His power extends throughout the universe. His power in our lives is all we need. Today, I encourage you to quit living a life of fear, doubt, and apprehension and to press forward with the courage and strength that can only Come from God the father with no regrets!

“Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come unto thee. Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.” Psalms 102:1-2

About this Plan

God Is My Dad From A-Z

This God is my Dad A-Z Devotional is designed to help you overcome not having an earthly dad and to understand and embrace God as your Dad! A few fatherless individuals (Sara Valin, Amy Gadomski, and Pastor Sean Teis) wrote this devotional for GodismyDad.com, and Jackie Teis helped put it all together! You will find truth from God's Word intertwined with glimpses of the author's stories! All you need to do is work through the alphabet with these devotionals! Let's work through letters A-G together in the first part of this devotional! One letter a day! We understand that being fatherless is difficult, but you can succeed through God as your Dad!
