God Is My Dad From A-ZSample
C for Complete by Amy Gadomski
If you were to ask me at 11 years old whether I thought I lived a complete and absolute life after my father left, I would have most likely said no. How was I supposed to feel complete when my family life was incomplete? After my father left, my mother always told me God is a husband to the husbandless and father to the fatherless. Realize, I had heard this statement hundreds of times from my father. For several years, my father served in the church. Whether he was a janitor or a church deacon, he did his best to serve. I had heard him use this statement when counseling fellow church members, but I never entirely knew the meaning until my father left. After my father left, things never seemed to make much sense. But as my mom would repeat this saying to me, I realized that I didn’t need my father or anything in this world to feel complete. All I needed to focus on was being complete in Christ. My mom set a great example when it came to being complete in Christ. Even without a husband by her side, she knew there was hope. My Mom never attempted to try and find another man to try and take my Dad’s place as a husband, nor did she try to find a man to take the place of my father. All she needed was our Heavenly Father. I truly believe as Christians, our completeness is in our strong relationship with Jesus Christ. Man (humanity) can and most likely will fail and disappoint us. That’s why it is so important that we keep our eyes on Christ. God has proven to me time and time again that He will never leave me nor forsake me.
He is worthy of my trust, loyalty, and love. He is the one who knows and supplies my every need. So why would I cut myself short and not live a complete and absolute life? It brings me great comfort, rest, and confidence, knowing that I do not need anything besides my Heavenly Father to live a safe, secure, and complete life. My future is safe with Him.
