God Is My Dad From A-ZSample
A for Anger by Sara Valin
Hey! You’re the girl that was angry the whole time while I was giving a college tour last year,” said a Liberty University Student employee when I encountered him again. Angry – I did not want to be remembered as angry. A couple of years ago, I kept a lot of anger inside me. I wasn’t just angry towards people. I wasn’t content. I wasn’t living life joyfully. There were reasons in my life for my anger, but I did not have a reason to let the anger consume my life. I then allowed my anger to turn into bitterness. It affected not only my relationships with friends and family, the way I carried myself, and the choices I made but also my relationship with God. I was angry because I wasn’t looking for true joy. I would look to worldly pleasures, friends, and music for gratification, but shortly after, I would find myself down in the dumps again (not literally).
I went to a Christian Summer Camp one year, and for some reason, everything just clicked. It was as if my eyes were opened to pure joy. I chose to rededicate my life to Jesus since I had already been saved when I was seven. Since then, I have decided that I don’t have to be bitter and uptight but just have to let go and give it all to God. I figured that if God could hold the whole world, he could hold me and my problems. I decided not to be angry but to be absolutely joyful because I have God, a Good Father who always provides.

About this Plan
This God is my Dad A-Z Devotional is designed to help you overcome not having an earthly dad and to understand and embrace God as your Dad! A few fatherless individuals (Sara Valin, Amy Gadomski, and Pastor Sean Teis) wrote this devotional for GodismyDad.com, and Jackie Teis helped put it all together! You will find truth from God's Word intertwined with glimpses of the author's stories! All you need to do is work through the alphabet with these devotionals! Let's work through letters A-G together in the first part of this devotional! One letter a day! We understand that being fatherless is difficult, but you can succeed through God as your Dad!
