According to the book of James, faith must be lived out. Expressions of faith must be lived, not merely acknowledged. God commanded his people to look after the poor; failing to do so was disobedience to his law. God loves and cares for people, and those who believe in him are expected to express their faith through generosity and giving to those in need.

Lord, help me to live out my faith as I seek to follow your ways. Prompt me to take care of poor and struggling people. Amen.
