“Richard’s Story of Fullness of Life”
When 30-year-old Richard was asked what his life would be like without the intervention of the church, his answer was clear. “I would be dead. I used to drink so much that I didn’t care if my family went without food. When I was drunk I would beat my wife.”
Richard heard about the work of Tearfund’s partner, Pentecostal Assemblies of God, and visited the church. “They were teaching about cornerstones,” he recalls, “saying that the cornerstone keeps the house straight. Inside I knew I wanted my life to be straight. So, on Sunday I went to church and received prayer.”
Richard’s conversion has changed everything. “When I gave my life to Jesus, my relationship with my wife improved.”
His journey has been from despair to fullness of life in Jesus, which would not have been possible without PAG and Tearfund. Through church mobilization, PAG is helping families across the community to overcome poverty and live life to the full.

Christ is often called the cornerstone. It’s on this stone that the foundation of the Christian community—the church—is built.
The gates of hell did not prevail against Christ, for he rose triumphant from the tomb, and darkness cannot prevail against the church. This is the message of hope for the world. The disciples of Christ are doorkeepers of the kingdom of God. May we encourage others to enter.

Lord, thank you for your message of hope to the whole world. Let your kingdom prevail. Loosen the chains of injustice, on earth and in heaven. Amen.
