Christ is called the bread of life because, just as bread nourishes and supports life, Jesus sustains the soul. As the bread of life, Jesus feeds us in our spiritual walk. He gives life and peace to the soul. The Christian community must share physical food with the hungry, but also the spiritual bread of Christ with those who are starving and dying without him.
Pray:
Lord, I praise you for giving me life-sustaining bread in the form of your son Jesus. I thank you for the peace that he brings. Help me to share what I have, both my material and spiritual abundance, with those in need. Amen.
