In this psalm, David was praying for the restoration of a right spirit in himself. He knew his heart was not in line with God’s word, and that only he could divinely renew it. Like David, we must pray for our hearts to be renewed so they stand firm in God’s purposes of virtue, that we would not yield to temptation. Our hearts should be steadfast in the services of God.
Pray:
Lord, help me be restored to a right spirit. I desire for my heart to be in line with yours. Renew me with your divine power so that my purposes are firm and that I am steadfast in caring for those in need. Amen.
