eKidz Family Devotional: Ordinary People, Extraordinary God

DAY 1 OF 5

GIDEON – BELIEVE GOD IS WITH YOU

In Judges 6, Gideon thought he didn't have the strength within himself to defeat the Midianites;he was a farmer, the weakest in his tribe, and the youngest in his family. But God knew his potential and had a purpose for him.

God assured Gideon that He was with him and Israel would win the battle! He called Gideon “mighty warrior” and told him to “go in the strength you have.” (Judges 6:14a) Gideon didn’t have to become more than he was — instead, he drew strength from knowing God was with him.

The boy who didn’t think he was enough ended up being exactly what his people needed! He went on to defeat the Midianites with only 300 men, and later brought 40 years of peace to Israel as a great leader and warrior.

When we believe God is with us, we can do things we never thought possible. We can face challenges — a difficult test, a broken friendship, or a jam-packed week — because God will give us strength. In Him, we are already enough!

Talk it out: What does it look like to trust God is with us when we don’t feel strong enough or smart enough?

Act on it: This week, when you face tough situations, ask God to help you be strong and trust He is with you.

Pray about it: Lord, thank You for always being with me. Help me trust that I’m enough because of You, and help me listen to You before my own doubts. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Day 2

About this Plan

eKidz Family Devotional: Ordinary People, Extraordinary God

In the Bible, God didn’t just choose royalty and great heroes to do His will; He also worked wonders through the lives of shepherd boys, wives, orphans, and servants. God can use anyone for His will! Read through this plan with your family to discover it’s not your position in life that determines how God will work through you — it’s the position of your heart.
