Okay, So Now What? - Discovering Life in Light of the ResurrectionSample

When we accept Jesus in our lives, we receive the incredible power of the Holy Spirit. With that new power, our hearts are ignited and we are on fire for Jesus. Just like returning from a mountaintop experience or an incredible vacation, we want to tell the world about it. And that’s a great place to start! While the world might not seem receptive to the good news of Jesus all the time, people are desperate for a message of hope whether they know it or not. The world is dark and needs those of us who have a fire in our hearts because of Jesus.

So what does that look like? The simplest way to share with others is by sharing your story and inviting those people into the story. Sharing your story is personal to you, and it is YOUR story to tell. Even if someone does not agree with your Jesus, they cannot refute your personal experience. Sharing the good news of what Jesus has done for YOU is showing people the hope you have found in Jesus. Inviting them is another way you can show them. You could invite them to church with you, to coffee, to lunch, into your home, or to hang out with some of your friends.

When Jesus called his first disciples, he used the phrase, “Come and see.” You can offer this invitation to those in your life who do not know Jesus. Ask them to simply come and see. It may take several glimpses of who Jesus is, several people to show His love, and several experiences for them to fully grasp what He is offering, but you can be a part of inviting other people into the story of Jesus.

Don’t sit on this good news that you’ve found–share it! However that looks for you is up to you, but share the good news of Jesus with whoever wants to listen, and invite them to “Come and see” Jesus with you!

Jesus, give me eyes to see those who need your hope and the courage to share my story with them. Help me to share what you have done in my life and how you could change theirs too. Help me to speak only your words and for your words to fall on ears that are willing to hear. Amen.”
