Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "Abundant Joy"

DAY 5 OF 28

The issue of global warming should not be taken lightly. The weather has become unpredictable lately. Cloudy days come right after hot ones. The rain comes suddenly, followed by hot weather just as soon as the last drop of rain falls. Sometimes, the weather forecasts are not accurate.

This is similar to our heart. It is unpredictable. It changes with the circumstances. Our mood swings affect our activities, may it be work, playtime, or even worship time.

Today, the Psalmist reminds us of Someone who’ll never change. He is our good God. His love and faithfulness endure forever. When the situations or even our moods change, God’s faithfulness and goodness remain, as evidenced by His protection, presence, and sustenance over our lives.

That is why the Psalmist invites us, God’s creation, to always worship Him! Don’t do it with a heavy heart, or even lazily. The Psalmist asks us to worship the Lord with gladness. Why? For when we worship, we meet THE King who deserves all respect, honor, and glory.

Devotion for Parents
Sometimes the troubles we are facing become the reasons we do not worship God. Some of us view worship time as a routine. Know this - worship time is not a responsibility or something compulsory for Christians. It is our token of love to Christ who has loved us first. When we realize that, then worship will come naturally. We can joyfully and excitedly come to the King of all kings in our worship.

Devotion for Kids
What sometimes makes you not eager to worship God? Is it a distraction from your surroundings? Or you just don’t feel like it? We need to pray to God for strength to worship joyfully.

Family Devotion Time
Discuss with your family what you can do together to make daily devotion and worship interesting and meaningful.
