90 Days to Wholeness: A Porn Addiction Recovery Devotional for WomenSample
One cannot simply end their sexual sin without the possibility of consequence. Something that must be understood is that there is always a consequence to sin. Some are temporary while others are more permanent. But without a consequence, why would anyone stop sinful behavior? There has to be a corrective order so that there is a cause to turn away.
In learning and discussing the concept of confession, we have had to weigh the gains and losses of bringing our struggles into the light. A lot of the fear around confession is the unknown or even known consequences of what that confession could bring with it. But 1 Peter 3 asks us “Who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good”? Confession is a good thing and even if consequences occur, God will always reward the good.
Consider the question in 1 Peter 3. As it relates to your struggle, who will want to harm you if you are eager to “do good” through your confession? Do you trust God to reward your efforts?
