Wise ChoicesSample
Let’s be honest; we have all lied. Maybe for you, it was a little white lie like when a friend asks you if you like her new outfit and you say yes but you secretly think it is ugly. Or if someone you know gets a haircut and you say it looks great but you really think it is awful. We all have been there but for others of us, we have been guilty of straight-up telling a lie. We lie for all sorts of reasons but we are only fooling ourselves when we think that lying doesn’t really hurt anyone. Lies have the power to hurt you and others. There is no nice way to say it; lies destroy.
Each of us needs to take some time and evaluate not just when we have lied but we should also take some time and ask for forgiveness because of those lies. No matter how big or how small a lie is you can make it right today by having the courage to tell the truth and be honest. Don’t wait; make it right today.
Challenge: Today we challenge you to confess your lies to God and to the person you lied to. The only way to end a lie is to be truthful about it, even if the truth could cause you to have consequences for the lie. Then take some time and ask God to help guide you in the future to always choose to be honest.
