Abiding in the PsalmsSample
Who is God to you? Is He distant or close? Is He fun or boring? Is He good or bad? Is He difficult or easy to relate to? Here are some great characteristics of God we can be sure of:
God Knows You v1-6
In this psalm, we see the that God knows the deepest parts of you. He knows where you go, what you desire, your likes and dislikes, the things that make you laugh and even the pain you carry that nobody else knows about. You can’t keep any secrets from God. This can provoke a range of emotions.
God Cares About You v7-12
In verse 7 David asks, ‘Where can I go from your Spirit?’ There is nowhere you can go that God won’t be there. You could go up to the highest heavens and God is there. You could be in the lowest depths and God is there. You could be experiencing the greatest joy and God is there with you; you could be experiencing grief, hardship and pain, and guess what? God is right there. God, the one who really matters, is there with you. He cares about you in all your situations.
God Helps You v23-24
David invites God to come and search him and he asks God to lead him in how to live in ‘the way everlasting’. God knows the very best way for us to live, the way that will lead to fullness in our lives. We can’t get there on our own, but God desires to help you, as you ask Him like David did.
Questions

2. Do you know God in the same way he knows you? Why or why not?
3. What does it mean for your life that God cares about you?
4. From v23-24, how can God help you?
