Consider The LiliesSample
Prayer Warriors
Many of my prayers have been answered, they just look a little different than I expected. Why is that? I pray, and He conforms according to His will, His plan for me. We all go through times where we feel alone, dejected, and unable to pray, or like we don’t know where to start. Even when we don’t feel like praying, God is there, patiently waiting. He will speak truth to us as we delight in His presence. We can walk in His truth, in His abundance, and in His glory, communicating with the best possible communicator, counselor, Father, and lover of our souls that we could ever imagine. He’s got you!
Do you ever feel this way? How is your prayer life?
We Are the Lilies of the Field
Corrie ten Boom famously asked this question: “Is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tire?” What a great image. We should lead with prayer rather than thinking of it as a last resort
Like the lilies, we are not always in bloom. I know that seasons of dormancy can feel like a waste. We may feel confused, asking “Why is nothing happening?” Remember that God is often doing a “new thing” below the surface, just as He promised in Isaiah 43:19 (NIV): “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” So often it’s hard for us to see what He’s doing.
He’s working in us, preparing us to be abundant and fruitful. Sisters, in order for us to perceive it, we must begin seeking Him in prayer. We must ask the question, “Your will, or my desire?” If we don't seek Him first, we actually put our plan into play, our own desires before His. We ask God to bless what we want. He must be our steering wheel!
Why Should We Pray?
One of the greatest gifts we’ve been given is the ability to communicate with our Father in heaven through prayer. Longtime friends develop the ability to finish each other’s sentences. They become more intimate because of the conversations and time spent together. That’s exactly what prayer is with our Father in heaven. An undeniable bond that grows and develops with Jesus. We build a bond where we begin to seek Him for all things ~ wisdom, knowledge, understanding, our families, our careers, our ministries and more. We trust Him to light our steps and guide our path. We learn to hear His voice, seeing Him in everything, building our confidence in His plan for our lives to trust Him. Through prayer, we are able to take root in the places where the Lord has planted us to glorify Him.
Consider This:
Carve out your prayer space. Explore the names of God. Claim the promises over your life. Seek out prayer warriors to pray together to move mountains.
