Consider The LiliesSample
We Are the Lilies
Has there ever been a better time to be a woman? While women continue to make strides like never seen before, we’re still struggling to find our way. There is a deep discontentment in our collective spirits. Many are wrestling with being confused, longing for clarity on calling and purpose. So, I got to thinking about how so many of us experience anxiety, I remembered Jesus’ words: “Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin". The idea of women as beautiful, fragrant, and fruitful resonated with me. The lily is hearty, abundant and it takes root where it is planted, forming extensive colonies.
Could we be toiling and spinning because we are not taking root where God has planted us?
No Need to Worry
The Lord gently reminds us that the lily doesn’t worry. The flowers rely on Him. That is what He desires for us, too. Knowing who I am and whose I am is most important as I run the race that is ahead of me. I must turn my eyes to Jesus and pursue His Word. I must have a clear understanding of God the Father and my identity in Him. We are the lilies ~ we can surrender to our divine design, trusting in God’s provision and plan for our lives.
Surrender
How often we spin and toil, only to come up unsatisfied, then look to the world to help us find our next place or thing instead of seeking out and spending time with the One who created us. Let’s seek the life the Lord has planned for us. That’s the only way to stop the chaos that is confusing us and distracting us from His plan and the impact we are here to make.
If we trust Him with our salvation, shouldn’t we trust that He has a plan for our lives? He wants to prosper and not hinder us? Let’s dig deep into His Word and find clarity and direction. Let’s begin to seek the Lord and His will for our lives and praying, as He begins to refine our understanding of our purpose. Let’s start by opening God’s Word and looking at the master plan. Let’s get rooted!
