Listening To The Word - 1 YearSample
Sustained by the Word
Hebrews 1:1-2
“In these last days God has spoken to us by his Son whom he appointed heir of all things and through whom he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representative of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.”
The Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, speaks to us today and sustains all things by his powerful word. Jesus spoke to us as is recorded in the gospels, and he still speaks to us today as he promised through the Holy Spirit. We are sustained today by the powerful word of Jesus. Our life comes from Jesus. This is a living word, alive within us through the Holy Spirit. The words of Jesus to us today have power to change our perspective of God, of ourselves and of those around us.
Are our ears, the ears of our heart, open to listen?
There is no word more important to meditate on and be sustained by. If we are being sustained by the approval of our spouse, or employer or the world around us, more than the living words of Jesus, let us return to our Source who gave us life. Let us live for His glory, sustained by His Word.
Lord Jesus, thank you that you spoke and you speak this day. I’m listening.
