Daily Encouragement
Hebrews 3:13
“But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.”
We can easily harden our hearts and resist listening to and obeying the Spirit’s promptings in our lives. The Spirit of God is present to convict us of sin and help keep us following Jesus. Sin is deceitful. It promises far more than it delivers. We need the voice of our Shepherd counseling and guiding us in the right way. We don’t have to dwell on the failures or victories of the past, but we must be fully engaged and responsive to God’s work in our lives today. Today is a new opportunity to respond to God’s grace. Our encouragement of each other also gives strength and new courage to resist sin and follow Jesus. Rather than make others proud, encouragement lifts our heads so that we fix our eyes on Jesus and remember whose we are.
How often should we encourage each other to be faithful to Jesus?
Daily. We can’t encourage each other enough! The pull of sin is strong – but the power of encouragement is stronger. Let’s not waste this gift of the Spirit in our community of faith!
Lord Jesus, thank you for new grace today. I pray for opportunities to encourage others today!
