Listening To The Word - 1 Year

DAY 188 OF 365

Breakup your Unplowed Ground

Hosea 10:12
“Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord until he comes and showers righteousness on you.”

Hosea 12:6
“But you must return to your God; maintain love and justice, and wait for your God always”

Hebrews 4:7
“Today if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”

Renewal in our relationship with God requires intentionality. It is always time to seek the Lord, but so few go there. We know we must return to God, but there are always other good things which take out time and attention. Life is found in God’s presence, listening to His voice and worshipping Him. Yet we still believe we can find life and happiness in all the wrong places. God desires to change our hearts, to soften them so that they quietly respond to His voice and Word. However, it is our responsibility to break up our “unplowed ground” through repentance and humility before God. We must return to God.

What is stopping us from making the first step on that journey today?

As we call out to God, our hard hearts will soften and the rain of God’s presence will begin to fall.

Thank you Jesus for your life giving presence and your words to me. Break up any unplowed ground and surrender it to you, to receive your word to me.
