God’s Grandeur

DAY 2 OF 7

The Path of Discovery

When you know where you are going, when your direction and objective are clear, the only problem that you may encounter is choosing which path to take in order to arrive at that destination without wasting your time. As Christians, we know that God, the creator of the Sun, sent His Son to Earth to become our destination – the center of our attention.

In our Christian walk, we sometimes find ourselves asking difficult and honest questions. What happens when we do not feel satisfied in Christ? Why is it that I still have anxiety, pain, hurt, or fearfulness? What does this mean? Does it mean that God is not satisfying? Does it mean that I am walking in sin? We certainly would like to have the answers given to us in as much detail as possible, but would that really help us? We tend to remember and learn from what we experience and not from what it is plainly explained to us.

If you are a believer in Christ, and you know that God is your number one satisfaction, you are on the right path of discovery for this profound truth! We will never have the complete and ultimate picture and answer to everything until we reach Heaven. The Apostle Paul put it like this: “For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now, I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.” (1 Corinthians 13:12) Paul was writing to Christians! He was saying that in our Christian path there will always be things that we do not understand completely.

On the path of discovery, we may not have everything figured out, but that is why it is a path of discovery! Again, Paul gave this piece of advice to another church, "… I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:12-14) The most important word in these verses is “in.” Jesus is the center of attention, and “in” Him you have the answer to everything.

Thought of the Day

Stay on the path of discovery. Satisfaction is discovered in Christ.
