Lives Above Reproach

There is an expectation of perfection for every person who wears a badge, no matter the rank, experience level, department, or jurisdiction in which they serve. This has come with the dehumanization of law enforcement through various media outlets, such as movies, video games, and songs. We are all going to make mistakes, and, yes, we are all going to commit what is called, according to the Bible, sin. But we are made blameless before God by the blood shed by His Son, Jesus. When we live a life in pursuit of Him, it causes every other area of our lives to line up in righteousness. 

To experience success in law enforcement, we must have proper motivation in our hearts before each shift. Our character must be impeccable and our walk must be blameless. Living above reproach means no other person can point to us and say we violated the law or that we even tested the waters in violating any laws because we were people of the utmost integrity during our careers. Know you can trust the path God has for you, and while you lean on His promises, He will release success in your life and shield you all your days. 

Heavenly Father, help my life be above reproach for those who see it, and may those who see me, see you, and recognize the change you have made in me. Amen.
