Live Life Today!Ihe Atụ
Did you know this?
"I crashed my car into the bridge, I don't care, I love it," these lyrics blared from the radio, and it felt like my heart was sending me alarm signals!
Unfortunately, my phone was broken, so I could only rely on the radio during this long drive. And during that time, I suddenly became aware of how much unhealthy content is out there on the air waves.
Whether it's Taylor Swift singing about depression, or Sam Smith celebrating infidelity in his song "Unholy," we are inundated with such lyrics uncontrollably through the radio.
The beats are often really catchy, making it hard not to tap along, to sing along. And, I'm the last person who would stand there wagging a finger and say, "Never listen to the radio again." No, I enjoy it too.
But: I am who I am today, because of the songs I listen to and sing.
I want to draw your attention to the fact that it becomes difficult to break free from your addictions, depression, or just your everyday problems if you fill your heart with lyrics that the radio feeds you uncontrollably.
It's something completely different when you sing with depression, marital issues, and other worries: "I crashed my car into a bridge, I don't care," or: "With you, all things are possible, in you I find everything I need!" and "You are a God who sees me!"
Do you know what I mean? So many problems disappear when we sing different songs.
Again, this is not a ban on listening to the radio. I want to give you an awareness of what happens when you let such words into your life, because:
"The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences." (Proverbs 18:21 NLT)
Words are so important. The words you let out and the words you let in.
Don't let others decide which beat your heart dances to, when you can decide which song to continue with yourself.
You are a miracle!

In these seven days, we will remind ourselves of the importance of living in the NOW and not overlooking what God has in store for us NOW, with, through, and for us! I wish you an open heart and many heavenly "aha moments" as you journey throughout this plan!
