Jehovah Jireh: The Lord will Provide

Gen 22:13-15 And Abraham called the name of the place, The Lord Will Provide, as it is said to this day, “in the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.

God tested Abraham by asking him to sacrifice his only son, Isaac and offer him as a burnt offering to God. Why would God ask such a sacrifice? What kind of man would obey such a command? Abraham did.

When we put something on the altar, we acknowledge two things: that He is God and that we are not God. This is the worship we need to offer, which will allow us to experience God’s provision for our lives.

Gen 22:12 And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”

Abraham passed the test. God stopped Abraham in time. God provided a ram for the sacrifice instead of Isaac. He revealed Himself to Abraham as Jehovah Jireh- The God who sees our need before it arises and makes the provision.

Phil 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus

The secret of Abraham’s success was his obedience. Our obedience to God’s voice unlocks God’s provision in our lives. Paul speaks a blessing over the Philippians church because they gave willingly and lovingly to Gods work. They would surely see God supplying all their needs according to His riches.

And God is very rich!

♥ Response: Lord, help me to trust You enough to offer up myself to You. Help me to know, that You are God and I am not. I choose to let go all control over everything. You have blessed me with. I want to see Your provision for me. In Jesus’ name.

Declarations:

The earth shall yield her increase because God, our own God shall bless us. Ps 67:6

Lord, I don’t give grudgingly or of necessity for You love a cheerful giver. 2 Cor 9:7

I will be enriched in every way so that I can be generous on every occasion. 2 Cor 9:11

Lord, help me to hear Your word and obey it for then I will be truly blessed. Luke 11:28

Lord, I will not be haughty and will not put my trust in uncertain riches but rather in You, Living God, who gives me richly all things to enjoy. 1 Tim 6:17

Lord, I thank You that you feed the birds of the air, who neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns. I thank You that I am of much more value than they. Matt 6:26

Let’s pray:

Pray for God’s favor to rest on you at your workplace. As God was with Joseph, pray He would be with you too.

Pray each member in the church would pay their tithes and lovingly bring their offerings to build God’s house and extend His kingdom.

Pray for all the needs in the church to be met. Pray for a new house of Prayer in Andheri East.
