God’s plan of forgiveness is to bring us back to Him. We were heading in the wrong direction, and He stepped in. It’s impossible for us to make our sin right no matter how good we are; no matter how hard we try in our own strength, our sin can only be forgiven by Jesus. Only Jesus could pay the price that our sin demanded—His own life—so that we could be forgiven. When Jesus went to the cross and rose again on the third day, He permanently dealt with sin. Jesus sets us on the road to freedom.
