In the passage today, we learn so much from Jesus about prayer. We see the intimate, honest way that our Lord, the one who has the power to change everything, trusts the Almighty Father.

One of the things that I love about this passage is we see that Jesus practices what he taught. He warns His followers: "Pray that you will not fall into temptation"...then Jesus himself, withdraws himself for some personal time of solitude with His Father...and what is His posture? Luke tell us, He "knelt down" and prayed. Have you ever tried praying on your knees? Maybe, try that this week. Perhaps there is something we can learn about how our physical posture informs the posture of our hearts?

Finally, look at how Jesus prays. He spills his guts out to the Father; he shares His fear of the cross, yet states His trust in the Father's will...in anguish...to the point of sweating blood.
