Today we will be looking at passage full of timeless wisdom and perspective from the Word of God that speaks into our lives today. These verses, written so long ago, speak directly to our world right now. Anyone paying attention in the slightest must agree these days are evil…war, corruption, economic collapse are all on today’s headlines. Yet we have hope as those who are saved from the flames because Jesus changes everything. I love how this armor we are to put on is God’s armor! Our protection and fortress is not fashioned with human hands and therefore it cannot fail. The world media can only report what the world sees, but we see here where the real struggle lies…” against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”

We are to put on all of God’s armor to rest in all the chaos and stand firm. The shoes of God’s armor allows us to walk in the “peace that passes all understanding,” in Christ Jesus…the embodiment of the Good News. His helmet is our salvation, bought with the precious blood of Christ, to guard our minds against the Evil One. We even have the undefeatable weapon that is the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God!

Our unlimited access to the Father Almighty is through prayer unceasing, which opens the gates to the armory of God. Let us redouble the time we spend alone with Him in prayer, as Jesus taught us. - Matt Harry
