Generosity
2 Corinthians 9:11
“You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”
Wealth can be found in many areas of life. We can be rich in friendships, rich in joy, rich in love, rich in material resources, rich in every way. God’s blessing in our lives is intended to stimulate generosity on our part as we say thank you to God. Our generosity of love, gifts, kindness, encouragement and blessing to others will in turn cause them to express thanksgiving to God. This cycle of blessing and thanksgiving is at the center of God’s kingdom economy. Rather than holding and hording, we are generous and thankful “on every occasion” because our heavenly Father is generous. We image God’s nature through generous blessing on every occasion.
Thank you Father, for your generosity to me; I choose to also respond with generosity to you and others.
