Trust in the Lord
Psalm 125:1
“Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.”
Hebrews 12:22, 28
“You have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God…since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful…”
When political systems, economies and the social order around us are shaken, how do God’s people respond?
God’s kingdom, described as Mount Zion, is eternal. This kingdom is the rock, not cut out by human hands, which becomes a mount filling the whole earth in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream (Daniel 2). When our faith is in Jesus Christ and we live for his eternal kingdom purposes and mission we need not fear! Our response when all around us shakes, is thanksgiving and worship. Our trust is not in the global economy or our political leadership, but in the eternal God who has called us his own and written our names into the citizenship book of Mount Zion.
Jesus, you are my security in a world where everything is shaking. My hope is in you and your eternal kingdom.
