THE SERVANT GOD KNEW
The word “worship” is originally taken from the Greek word proskuneo which means ‘to kiss’. Someone who wants to kiss has to come closer to the person he wish to kiss. The other thing about kissing is that the kisser and the one to be kissed have a good relationship to one another.
When we come to worship God we have to come closer to Him. And for us to come closer to God there is a condition. The condition is, firstly, we must come in holiness. God commanded the Israelites to sanctify themselves to be holy because He is Holy (Leviticus 19:2). Let us confess all our sins and iniquities before God and repent.
Secondly, to come closer to God and worship Him, we need to know the God that we worship and allow God to know us. In the end time, God will expel the people He doesn’t know, even though the people are the servants of God who did miracles and prophesied in His name (Matthew 7:21-23). The people God knows very well are those who love Him wholeheartedly (1 Corinthians 8:3). The people who love God will live and keep the Word of God (John 14:23).
Let us do the word of God, and love the people around us. The indication that we are children of God is that God knows us. If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? (1 John 4:20)
The more we love Jesus, the more we will be away from doing something that hurts His heart, that is SIN.
