DAY 8 OF 9

UNLIMITED FORGIVENESS

Aaron, the priest, was commanded to offer the sacrifice of forgiveness of sin for himself and his family before offering the sacrifice for the Israelites. This shows us that the great priest is also an ordinary man who needs forgiveness. This part also recorded the importance of the Day of Atonement for the Israelites as God’s people.

The purpose of this reconciliation is to remind them that the favour of God did not happen because of their own goodness and perfection, but because of His grace. The same thing is applicable to believers today. Only by the grace of God in Christ Jesus, through faith, we are reconciled with the Lord.

We could see that God took efforts and initiatives to rebuild fellowship with man. He loves man so much that He does not wish anyone to perish. However, the just God also does not want man to live and come to Him in ungodliness.

His love and justice walk together. This is the reason why God’s forgiveness is unlimited. There is always a way for anyone who wants to come to Him, regardless of his sins. The main key is the humility to believe, with faith.

The rules for sacrifice which were set in the Old Testament would bring His favour if they were offered in faith. We are not able to receive forgiveness and be sanctified by the Lord without faith in Him.

His forgiveness is available for anyone who believes in Him.
