Ask of Me, and I will give You

And the ends of the earth for Your possession.

The Middle East is the cradle of civilization. It is the birthplace of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and it is in this region that the history of our faith began. As the center stage of the Gospel message, the LORD used the region to send humanity His Son, Jesus Christ. It is a strategic area today, as the home of modern-day Israel and the crossroads between Africa, Europe, and Asia.

Because the Middle East is the land of the Bible, we know these people have a special place in history and the Lord’s heart! We celebrate all the ways God is at work through various means, using denominations, movements, mission organizations, and Holy Spirit encounters to reach these beloved people.

The nineteen countries of the Middle East are often moderately or highly hostile to traditional church planting and missions. Therefore, we need a different approach to these creative access nations. Today’s missionaries come as teachers, businesspeople, language learners, and servants to reach people’s hearts and build relationships and bridges to demonstrate God’s love and prayerfully open doors for evangelism.

The Middle East is full of promise! We pray that the multitudes of people in this region will become part of the Kingdom of God.

Prayer Points to Consider:

• Pray for stability in the Middle East.
• Pray that the region’s people would receive dreams, visions, and encounters with the Lord and that Jesus would be understood as the Son of God and Emmanuel—God with us.
• Pray for increased discipleship and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit among Christians across all denominations and protection from persecution.
• Pray for courage to rise up among believers to evangelize and share their faith across ethnic and religious lines.
• Pray for the protection of overseas workers and for those called to the field and for creative ways to bring Christ to these nations.

Dear Heavenly Father…I come to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus, thanking You for Your love for the people of the Middle East. Though many active wars have led to much fear and bitterness, I ask for Your healing touch upon the hearts of these different ethnic groups. May Jesus, the Prince of Peace, bring these conflicts to an end, and may diplomatic relations be established between all these nations. I pray for a sovereign move of the Holy Spirit so that many come to the knowledge of the salvation found in Jesus! Amen.
