Pause: A Month of Prayer in Five Minutes a Day

DAY 23 OF 30

Proclaim

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Phil. 4:6)

Prompt

Several years into the life of the nonprofit my wife and I founded, I began to make huge changes in my prayer life. I still prayed with the same desire I always had, but I began to take bigger steps and launch out in faith.

I was no longer satisfied with the answered prayers of three years, four years, or seven years ago. I had quit asking God to do the miraculous in my life. I had forgotten that God says to ASK: to ask, seek, knock…and that he promises that HE WILL HEAR US!

So, I started making bold declarations over my life, and since then, I have made huge decisions, taken steps of faith, and still believe God will provide for me and answer my prayers.

To me, a declaration is a prayer statement that activates your faith. Here’s my favorite:

God, your favor runs to me like a roaring river. What I ask, in Jesus' name, will be blessed!

Prod

Write a declaration for your day right now. What statement will help activate your faith to guide and direct you today?

Praise

Pray

Jesus, you’re bigger than I could ever imagine, and yet you’re closer than my next breath. I know you can—and will—do amazing things in my life, even today. I commit this day—and all my plans—to you. I can’t wait to see the evidence all around me of your goodness! Amen.

About this Plan

Pause: A Month of Prayer in Five Minutes a Day

Depression. Loneliness. Comparison. Greed. Addiction. People-pleasing. These are tools of the enemy to steal your calling and rob your joy. In this reading plan, drawn from his book, Lance Lang invites you to neutralize those tools by pausing each day, studying scripture, reading encouragement, taking action, and refocusing your attention on Jesus. Press forward into what God has for you. Press pause.
