Taking Back What the Enemy StoleÀpẹrẹ
One of the most powerful principles in spiritual warfare is learning to seek God’s direction for restoration, even while remaining compassionate to others.
In the same story of David in 1 Samuel, we see that after David strengthened himself in the Lord (1 Samuel 30:6), he inquired of God and received a clear command: “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all” (1 Samuel 30:8, NKJV). With this assurance, David set out to reclaim what was stolen. Along the way, he encountered an Egyptian abandoned by the Amalekites. David’s men showed compassion by giving him food and water, unknowingly aiding someone who held critical information. This Egyptian servant led them directly to the enemy’s camp, where they recovered everything that had been taken.
This encounter shows a key principle: revive others on your way to recovery.
Helping others, even in our pursuit of healing, can unlock unexpected blessings. David’s compassion toward the Egyptian led him to know his family’s location, demonstrating that sometimes God links our recovery to our willingness to serve others in need.
Jesus demonstrated this on His way to the cross by healing the servant’s ear and offering salvation to the thief beside Him (Luke 22:50-51). In both moments of His deepest trial, Jesus was still serving others, showing us that even in struggle, extending kindness is part of our calling.
As we help others, we may find that God opens doors for our own healing and restoration, just as He did for David. When we align with God’s heart by blessing those around us, we create pathways for God’s blessings to flow back into our lives.
No matter what situation you find yourself in, submit yourself to the Lord and keep serving faithfully. God will reward you.
Let's pray:
Lord, as I seek restoration in areas where I’ve faced loss, please help me find my strength in You and give me the courage to help others in need. Let me see Your guidance and love at work in the lives I touch, and lead me to reclaim all that has been taken. Amen.
